Privacy Policy
This policy explains what personal information Tom’s Desk collects, why it collects it, who it is shared with, and how to have it deleted.

Who we are
Tom’s Desk is operated by Checked Solutions, LLC, trading as Tom the Chef, in the United States. Checked Solutions, LLC is the data controller for the information described here.
For anything about privacy, including a request to delete your data, write to [email protected].
Tom’s Desk is a private, internal tool used by Tom the Chef to read and answer comments on his own social accounts, to run his own giveaways, and to collect his own sign-up forms. It is not a product offered to other people, and no one else has an account on it.
What we collect, and why
Comments on our own Facebook and Instagram Pages
We read comments and replies left on Facebook Pages and Instagram accounts that we own and administer, using the Meta Graph API. We never read comments on anybody else's Page or account.
For each comment we may hold the comment text, the time it was written, any attached photo, the number of likes, and — where Meta provides it — the name and account ID of the person who wrote it. On Instagram this is the public username.
We use this for one purpose: so Tom can read the comments left for him and write a personal reply. Knowing who wrote a comment is what lets him answer you by name and recognise you if you have written before.
Forms and giveaway entries
If you fill in one of our forms or enter one of our giveaways, we hold what you typed into it — typically your name and email address, plus any other answers the form asked for — together with the entries you earned and how. To reduce automated abuse we also record the IP address and browser user-agent that submitted the form.
If you ask to hear from us, we hold your email address so we can send you what you asked for. Every message we send has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect immediately.
Signing in with Facebook or Google
If you sign in to a giveaway that way, we receive your name and email address and nothing else — no posts, no friends, no photos. We use it to identify your entry and for nothing else.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information, to anyone, ever.
- We do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
- We do not use it for advertising, ad targeting, or profiling.
- We do not build profiles of people beyond what is needed to answer a comment or credit a giveaway entry.
- We do not use comment data to train any machine-learning model.
Service providers
We use a small number of providers to run the service. They process data only on our instructions and only to do the job we use them for. They are not permitted to use it for anything else.
- Meta Platforms — the source of the Facebook and Instagram comments we read, through the Graph API.
- Anthropic — the text of a comment is sent to Anthropic's API so a draft reply can be written for Tom to read, edit and approve. Anthropic does not use it to train models.
- Kajabi — our email and contact platform, where an email address is stored if you asked to hear from us.
- Google — Google Drive, where our own photographs and videos are kept for publishing.
- Our own server, described below.
Where a feature is switched off, no data reaches the provider behind it.
How it is stored
Data is held in a private database on a server we control, reachable only over HTTPS. Access requires authentication; there is no public listing of any of it, and the administrative screens are not reachable without signing in.
We keep comment and entry data for as long as it is useful for answering people and running our giveaways, and we delete it on request. Passwords are not held, because there are none — entering a giveaway takes a name and an email address and nothing more.
How to request deletion of your data
Email [email protected] with "delete my data" in the subject, from the email address you used with us — or, if you only ever left a comment, tell us the Facebook or Instagram name you commented under and roughly when.
We will delete what we hold about you and confirm when it is done. It is done by hand, usually the same day and always within thirty days.
You can also ask us to tell you what we hold about you, or to correct it, at the same address.
Deleting your data withdraws you from any giveaway still running — there is no way to keep an entry and remove the record of it. Deleting what we hold does not remove a comment from Facebook or Instagram; those live on Meta's platforms and you can delete them there. Removing our app from your Facebook settings or your Google account stops any further sharing, but does not delete what has already been recorded here.
Children
This service is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has given us information, write to [email protected] and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the new version replaces this page and the date at the top changes with it.
